Event Information

Event Info:
On April 11, DCAP will host AIDS Walk 2009, “Hitting the Bricks to Stop AIDS.” This event will begin and end at Maceli’s (1031 New Hampshire in Lawrence). Registration begins at 7:30 am, the 1 mile walk and the 5k walk/run will begin at 8:30. NetworQ will host breakfast at 9:00.

There is no cure for HIV/AIDS. The number of new infections occurring annually in the U.S. has not decreased in the last decade, remaining constant at approximately 40,000 new HIV cases each year. “Hitting the Bricks to Stop AIDS” is an opportunity to walk together with DCAP’s community of caring in an effort to prevent HIV infection and show support for those infected/affected by HIV/AIDS.

Please note that if a walker raises $20 or more he will receive a T-shirt and breakfast the day of the event.

All of the proceeds from this event will go to support DCAP programs, which include case management for those who are HIV+, education and outreach, and free HIV counseling and testing.
